Team building start with fun

January 28th, 2022, is #havefunatworkday, according to National Day Today. Have Fun at Work Day encourages employees to have fun at work. It is a day where people can indulge in activities that they enjoy. It's a great idea to have fun at work, and a friendly work environment and friendly colleagues can help you do that. As a work culture consultant & social media manager, this is one made-up day I can support. This day can be used by law firms and other legal sector professionals to bond with 9-W employees, 1099 employees, and clients if appropriately used.


Recommendations

Here are a few of recommendations for making the most of have fun at work day in 2022.

  1.  Invite your clients to share their compliments about your staff on your social media channels. Create a fun trivia game based on the comments. You can use this strategy to boost your community on social media and boost the confidence of your staff.
  2. As part of having fun at work, ditch the suit, tie, and dress casually on Friday.
  3. Create an office team or club surrounding a game or sport. Implement it on the same day every week or month. Stick with it. 


Generally, if your office lacks energy, productivity will suffer. You probably have experience with this if you work in a dysfunctional office. Having fun at work isn't just about having fun; it's also about understanding that employees are human, with a variety of personal struggles. When a workplace combines fun, camaraderie, and humor, it conveys that management cares about employees' and employers' well-being and ensures efficiency and productivity.


The dream job does not exist. People create dream jobs. To create our dream jobs, some of us become bosses. Some people shape the work environment and culture to suit their needs. The point of the #nationalhavefunatworkday is to remind us that work does not have to be all business all the time. Let's face it, work shouldn't be all business all the time. If you are meeting deadlines and a conscientious employee, you should be able to inject some fun into the office.
