Let BVP publish your work! Best Virtual Paralegal LLC (BVP or BVP Services) publications want to host conversations among paralegals about the paralegal profession. We are accepting thoughtful, nonmarketing, nonpromotional articles and commentary by unpaid contributors.

Read the guidelines here.

Tips When You Write for BVP

BVP is frequently asked what happens if BVP expresses interest in your topic or inquiry?

  1. BVP will email you our contributor agreement to sign and return. The contributor agreement gives BVP and its subsidiaries the right to publish the article.
  2. BVP prefers to publish well-reasoned writing in an informal and conversational style. Therefore, for our guest articles, BVP does not want academic papers or law journal submissions. However, APA citations and references are ok for reinforcing ideas.
  3. We do not publish subjects that involve partisan politics. Topics should be of broad interest about subjects our readers are interested in, and especially in the following topic areas:
    a. Career Advice
    b. Mindset & stress management
    c. Leadership
    d. Soft and hard skills
    e. Life Stories & Work-life balance
    f. Substance abuse and the mental health of paralegals
    g. Civil rights and social justice
    h. Time management
    i. Practice Management

As you write, ask yourself the following questions.

  • Are you an expert? This doesn’t mean you have to be nationally known. But do you have a thorough sense of your article’s subject matter?
  • What’s your evidence? You may feel strongly about a subject, but our readers expect proof. Citing research or original sources is one way to do this. Citing your own research is also a good idea.
  •  Do you have a unique or original perspective?
  •  Is your topic helpful advice? Can you provide advice, suggestions, or steps the reader can act upon?
  •  Is the article a good read?
  • Can you fairly and accurately discuss all sides of the issue, even if you have a particular point of view?
  • Can you cover the subject comfortably in a maximum of 1,200 to 1,750 words?

Publish Pitfalls to avoid

  • Make sure you avoid the following downsides:
  • Do not advertise or promote products or services.
  • Do not advertise or promote Facebook Groups.
  • Do not write self-serving praise or anonymous attacks.
  • Do not bad-mouth a firm or employer, or association.
  • Do not engage in UPL.

All submissions must be for educational purposes. Submitted works will be edited as needed for style, content, and length. And the BVP reserves the right to reject the publication of an article for any reason.
